Sputtering and spitting from the engine

So my truck has been sputtering and
loseing power when I hit about 3000 rpm
you can hear it in the exost cutting in and
out it has also started back firing on me I
also only get about 5-7 miles to the gallon
and I don't see how that's possible it's a
little 302 5.0 just needing suggestions and
help thanks

The backfire is tells my me that it is ignition related, have you replaced the ignition module and the distributor pick up yet? If not start there as these both are high fail items.

I would do a tuneup but you may have a plugged up catalytic converter.

Cut the catalytic converter off did plugs wires distributer cap and router I even replaced the egr valve
