Transmission swap

Asked by Dave8500 Oct 31, 2019 at 10:42 PM about the 1984 Ford F-150 STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Car Customization

Yeah, I have a 1984 ford f150 2wd
5.0L with an AOD tranny and
wanting to swap out to a C6. What
would I have to modify to make it
work or would I? Will the flex plates
and torque converter as well as the
trans mount all be the same as the
AOD?

Why? The AOD is better. You will lose fuel economy and probably end up poorer acceleration.
