The main leads to the battery

I have to disconnect the battery to disengage the fuel pump

Sounds like the fuel pump relay is stuck or there is a dead short. Remove the relay and if it continues suspect the wiring being chaffed/pinched

I will try this tomorrow after work. Do you know the location of the relay? And will it be a plug in relay?

Under hood on drivers side, im not sure which one, if its not labeled or in your owners manual youll have to get a wiring diagram (ask at an auto parts store) that will show you which wire colors lead to it

And yes it will be plug in, be careful with old plastic as it tends to be very brittle. Zip ties and or electrical tape can replace most broken clips, they pretty much hold my 1994 b4000 together! Lol

That was the problem. When I tapped on the relay it started operating like it was supposed to. I’m going to buy a new one tomorrow to replace it. Next problem. When I start the bronco I have to push up on the steering wheel for it to start. I’m thinking it is the ignition switch on the steering column but I am not for sure. Any suggestions?

Thats great! A simple and cheap solution =) Now onto the next... how much does it move? Theres wires and connectors running through there, maybe one is getting pinched? Check to make sure the mounting bolts are tight, if it receives a ground through the mounting and its loose that would explain why pushing up helps

I did find a set of wires that looks wedges between the steering harness and the bracket. I just have not had time yet to lossen it. I will try that and get back. Thanks
