Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu LS w/ 2.5L ecotec engine w/ 64k miles. Lately in the mornings, it has had issues starting. The engine will crank but it takes a few attempts at starting before it will finally fire. I feel like it is acting like it has a fuel pump issue, losing it's prime overnight. The rest of the day, the car starts fine and starts right up no problem. With this engine having a high pressure fuel system, I won't be able to check fuel pressures myself. So, my buddy had a snap on computer he plugged in and was able to look at the engine diagnostics with no codes stored or active and all data showed normal including desired vs actual data.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue before?
Also, it was having a coolant sensor issue where the engine temp was reading completely cold and while driving showed "A/C turned off due to high engine temp." I fixed this issue, mostly, by cleaning the battery terminals. Now, the sensor is reading at 1/4 on the guage even over night, where it should read extremely low. It does fluctuate up to where it normally is, but not to the point that it used to. Would that be related at all to the starting issue? If not, should I just replace the sensor to fix the problem? Thanks

*UPDATE* 2/21/19 We tried putting in some BG 44K fuel system cleaner to a full tank of gas. It seems to be helping so far. It is starting quicker in the mornings. I'm wondering if maybe there is some buildup on the pump in the tank that would cause something like this to happen?

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? My cars having the exact same symptoms, but won’t start at all.
