Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just picked up my 2012 Toyota Prius C from the
body shop after a car accident two weeks ago.  as I
was driving out of town I got a warning that the
hybrid system was overheating so I pulled into an
auto parts store and put coolant in it. I then drove
around and did not get the warning so I headed
onto the  highway, and then I got check hybrid
system stop vehicle in a safe place immediately
warning. What does this mean

It means your car was not repaired correctly and needs to go back to the shop that did the work, also contact the insurance company if it was paid for by them..

Hybrids can have dangerous voltages present due to the batteries. Repairs must be done by someone that is experienced in repairing hybrids. Take it back to the shop, also notify your insurance company that there may be hidden damage from the accident that was not repaired.

Make sure the car is fixed correctly before driving it. If the batteries overheat your car could catch fire.
