I'm not an expert by any means, but I did think of a couple things for you to look at. blowing hot air could be as simple as recharging the refrigerant. ALWAYS USE LOW SIDE PORT to recharge, if you do it yourself. if you have recharged the ac refrigerant, and it's not getting cold, look or feel for possible leaks in the ac lines. all of these are pressurized lines, so be VERY careful. if you don't feel confident messing with the ac system, go to a licensed mechanic for help. another suggestion would be to look at the heater core (hoses) and engine cooling system for leaks. if the antifreeze is low, the ac will blow out warm air. if there is a clog somewhere in the engine coolant (antifreeze) system, that may be something to look at. as for the temperature gauge not working, I'm not sure. I don't know if you have a digital gauge or regular one, but maybe check fuses. **I'm not responsible if something bad happens.** I'm not an expert, and these are only suggestions.** good luck.

by the way...I know about older cars mostly. not much about newer ones. sometimes if you go into an auto parts store, you may be able to pick their brains for other possible solutions.
