based on what facts is it your fuel pump? What exactly does the car do to make you think this?

The fuel pump is located inside your gas tank so it's not a job for a novice mechanic. Do a google search for: 2012 ford fusion fuel pump replacement

1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to "Precautions" for fuel system pressure relief procedure. 2. Ensure transaxle is in "NEUTRAL" position, then safely support and raise vehicle. 3. Carefully turn fuel tank filler cap counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn until thread disengages and position aside. 4. Insert tool No. 310-102, or equivalent, into fuel tank filler pipe, Fig. 1. 5. Attach a fuel storage tank to fuel drain hose and remove approximately 1/8 tank of fuel, from a completely full tank, lowering fuel level below fuel pump module mounting flange. 6. To remove rear seat lower cushion, note the following: a. Fully release two latches and slightly raise rear seat cushion front edge to disengage from floor. b. Push rear seat cushion slightly rearward to disengage rear edge of cushion from rear retainers, then remove cushion. 7. Remove fuel pump module access cover mounting screws, Fig. 2, then the cover. 8. Disconnect fuel pump module electrical connector. 9. Press quick release tabs, then disconnect vent and fuel feed hoses. 10. Turn lock ring counterclockwise using fuel tank lock ring wrench, then remove fuel pump module. 11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following: a. Install new locking ring and seal. b. Lubricate fuel tube fittings with clean engine oil. c. Ensure alignment tab on fuel pump module and fuel tank meet before tightening fuel pump module lock ring. d. Ensure safety belts and buckles are accessible to occupants after installation of rear seat cushion. e. Establish fuel pressure and inspect for leaks. This info came from my database, If I'm wrong, my bad. I agree with others, make sure fuel pump is the problem before replacing. good luck

you'd probably be better off just replacing your fuel relay. It's in the fuse box under the hood and just comes out of slot. Very simple to replace. The fuel pump doesn't really act on it's own. That's why there is a relay. MUCH cheaper than buying a fuel pump, too!!
