Engine swap 4.6 v8 to a 350 big block
Wanna know what need to be done to get all
this to work smoothly. And what do I need to
do with the transmission
your breaking the code of ford vs chevy and will anger the GODS they will make it impossible to complete your task!it can be done but alot of time and money,you would need to replace trans,,,I don't think it will bolt up to the block!
are you takling about a 351 or a 352ci ford or a 350 gm/chevy block?the smallest chevy BBlock was the 366ci..
Chevy 350 I don't think it will anger the God you look drag mustangs most have the 351 or are running checy now days
put a small block 427ci in it with a powerglide.... punck in 427 ci small block chevy in google search...heck now a days you can buy a 454ci small block... better go big...or ill get ya
i want it to be a daily drive but when I wanna get up and go it can. But the main thing is the transmission
A 350 is not a big block! They are 396, 427, & 454's. Small blocks are 283, 327, 302, 307, & 350,.
Look & buy a salvage yard Chevy small block V8 engine & trans. (Your choice manual or automatic) Do a mild rebuild on them. Buy motor mounts & a trans cross member for your specific year & model car from a Chevrolet Parts Dept. Rent or borrow a engine puller & install them in your car.
Excuse me! Mustang? Use any small block V8 Ford motors. 302, 351. You said 350 that's a Chevy motor! Sorry.
I know it a Chevy motor. Don't feel like paying a lot for a ford motor when Chevys are cheaper and stronger

No kits. You have to install the upper Chevy motor mount to the block & adapt & weld-in the lower Ford motor mount or make your own. Then adapting what trans you will use is another problem. By making a custom trans cross member & bolting it or welding it in too. Plus a custom length drive shaft with Chevy U-joint in the front & Ford in the rear. Check some hot rod catalogs "Jeg's?" maybe they can help with engine & trans mounting parts? You most definatly have to cut-up some tube headers to fit. I know this Chevy motor swap is popular with fox body Mustangs, do some homework.
Motors are motors, depends on what you do to them & your skills & budget. If a purest keep it Ford like a 351" to save some time & headaches. The 351 Cleveland is a stout motor! They are a Ford favorite in Mustangs & De Tomaso Pantera's. Many Cobra Ford parts are availible for them too.
So I'm thinking about doing the same swapping a 350 into a 96 mustang but it comes with the automatic transmission so would that be ok and easy to put in without any headaches
