How would that work? If you can start it without the key then so could anyone else.

it has a metal key in the fob which the salesman called a valet key. i was wondering if that key would start it. its going to cost at least 280 dollars to get another key.

The valet key will start the car but the car/key will have limitations which should be spelled out in the owners manual.
