If the thermostat is easy to get to remove and put hose back on then run vehicle to see if it still runs hot. If it still overheats the radiator or or cooling ports in engine are clogged needs to be flushed and is the fan coming on ? Also may want to clean radiator coil fins with a garden hose a nozzle if clogged with dirt and bugs will restrict air flow across the coil.

If vehicle does not overheat with thermostat removed you may have installed the t- stat wrong or you just got hold of a bad new thermostat.
