my car won't start

Asked by Oct 04, 2016 at 03:33 PM about the 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS FWD

Question type: General

I was changing belt  and accidently hit ground wire
to the fuse box sparked 4 different times and got
belt on and put ground wire back to fuse box than
hooked my battery up and car started for bout 20
seconds than cut off now when I start it does
nothing at all

Sounds line a main fuse or fusible link. I would also check the ground connection and make sure it tight. Please click on "Mark helpful" if you're happy with the respond. Good luck :-)

That sounds like the security system is now fully active, check the owners manual for the disarm procedure. Or you could try making sure all but the drivers door is locked manually, then close and lock the drivers door with the key, wait at least 30 seconds, then unlock the door with the key not the fob. Hopefully one of those procedures will turn off the security system.

That just add to the problem. It can be really tough to find what system has shut it all down.
