Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I was driving my car on the interestate to work this morning. The car was driving fine and then I heard a rattling/banging sound coming from the drivers side (Front left side of the vehicle). As I slowed down on the interstate to pull over and check if something was wrong, the sound went away. I checked and nothing looked off. Then I got back and stated driving and the sound came back. I pulled to gas station to check and thought maybe the bar to keep the hood open was loose. I put that back and started driving. The sound didnt come back until I was on the interstate. So i drove a few miles until my next exit and then the sound randomly went away. I kept driving until I got to work (About another 15 minutes) and the sound never came back. Any idea what this may be ? I appreciate any help

Maybe your plastic air dam came loose, banged around, then finally tore free. If you can afford it take it to a shop and have it inspected, loose or damaged suspension is nothing to ignore especially if you commute on highways.

Also, the air dam has a purpose. It directs airflow to your radiator to help keep the car from overheating. So if that was the problem replace it before spring is upon us and your car starts overheating.
