My Buick Enclave's cargo door is stuck shut, but the dash light says it's open. How do I get it open?

Crawl inside the cargo area, remove the little round cap that looks like it would contain a key hole. Using a good light you can look straight back to see a small latch tab. Using a skinny screwdriver, manipulate the tab to release the lock while someone else pulls on the cargo door from the outside. Clean any debris from the losk area and where the door seals that may have caused it to jam... even a small pebble may be the reason. Whith the lid up, push the door button to see if it will now operate. If not you probably have a bad door motor & about a $600 fix. Good luck.

This just happened to me on my Enclave. Was able to get the door open based on this helpful info. But before anyone spends $600 on the motor replacement - check the little stuff first like: 1. the 30 amp fuse in the fuse block on top of the battery; 2. the relay/fusible link under the interior fuse block; and 3: the liftgate control module in the rear driver side panel (where the motor is located).

can anyone upload a photo of what this tab looks like? I have a rear hatch stuck shut and desperately need it open. i have removed the small cover and can see the latch but not sure of what tab i am supposed to be manipulating. Any help will be appreciated.
