whats wrong when the car runs fine going 70 but won't idle at light

Asked by Gbo3421 Oct 15, 2013 at 11:51 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i've had car checked at autozone, reading says plugs, wires, gas cap, etc. I have changed
these, an ejector on 1, mass-air flow, coils on 1 and 3 still nothing takes the miss out of
idle or keeps it from dying at times, yet I get 37 mile to the gal.  whats wrong?

the throttle position sensor should be tested...then replaced~ the intake air sensor should be tested....then replaced....the block temperature sensor should be tested....then replaced....you should read the trouble codes with a portable OBD-II scanner then clear the codes~

You might have a leak in the vacuum hose that goes to the break booster, causing the engine to pull in more air than it senses, so it runs lean and we'll die or run rough at low rpm.
