Its a major vacuum leak leads to misfires and then leads to bad sparks ,bad cat code is only triggered for the misfire. You need a complete tune up , changing sparks, replacing breather hose and valve that connects to the valve cover ,brake booster linkage which connects to air intake manifold, IMT o-rings (2 of them) Good news These parts are generally cheap if buy from online or jag dealer. And parts can be replaced easily , well I did it myself the ngine is better than i got it. Bad News Cat might been damaged( if car is not fixed soon), Also Labor will cost more in workshop than DIY I had the same problem at 90k,Fixed everything myself, now its like new again , Also changed to custom cold air intake now i get 32 mpg on the highway. check my profile for details
