why does my car loss power?

Asked by Steven Jun 30, 2014 at 05:34 PM about the 1992 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive my car for about an hour or two and then it acts like it's not getting gas or it's overheating. I then pull over for about ten to fifteen minutes, shut it off and then it will start right up and seems that the problem is gone. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Check fuel filter, and or fuel pump, pump may get hot and start as i call half pumping, but check filter first.

Replace the coil pack in your distributor, it solved my problem 1,500 bucks later, for a $50 fix, easy to do yourself
