No signal to crankshaft sensor

I tested the connector to crankshaft sensor and
both sides show ground and no voltage on either
side my truck will not start it has signal on the
main power wire only on the coil what should I do
next

I believe that sensor produces it's own voltage, ac. In the past with magnetic reluctance sensor, different year--make--model, I laid the sensor on my work bench, hooked digital multimeter between sensor electrical terminals and waved a wrench in front of magnetic end, I actually got a reading, I can't remember the actual reading, it's been too long. Just my opinion. Never mind the crank sensor, at the moment, what kind of problem are you having? I'm not saying the crank sensor can't cause your problem, just that, I don't know the problem? Any applicable trouble codes? Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good? Engine cranking, you have spark at the plugs--proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse?
