I have a 2005 CTS-V that I absolutely looooove. My hubby and I are kinda in a heated argument because he thinks I need to sell and I don't want to. We are about tho put roughly 4k into repairs. Does anyone here know anything about this specific model and what are your thoughts/opinions? Knowledgeable opinions please. Thanks!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

You have to decide how long you want to keep the car. If the car is high miles I would not put the money into it but if it is clean and low mile it is probably worth the 4k in repairs. What are the repairs?

It has 105k on it but I would keep it until it literally can't go anymore or catches fire. The motor mounts are blown, the throw out bearing (I think that's the one in the shifter), something is up in one of the rear hubs that they haven't gotten into yet and I feel like there's more. I already did the differential bushings and the fuel pump about 6 years ago.

Motor mounts and hubs are not that big of a deal. I doubt you have a throw out bearing unless your car has a manual transmission. If so do the clutch while you are at it. All these items are maintenance items, not what I would call repairs.
