My truck was low on trans oil for awhile and I didn't notice then I added some, it's been awhile now but in the morning when I crank it up it knocks sounds like it's at the transmission area,
It doesn't sound like a stuck lifter cause it
doesn't tick it just knocks for a min. Is there
any chemicals I can try before I spend
money on getting expert opinions then
spend alot getting it fixed? It has to be
something on crank shaft or bad
transmission but transmission seems to be
shifting fine and all. Any ideas
Engine size? Miles? Recent engine oil change?
4.7 143,000 and changed oil about 3 weeks ago
What brand oil filter was installed?
Do some reading at the link. Some Fords knock on start up when using non Motorcraft or cheap filters. Not sure if this issue carries over to a Dodge though. http://www.ramforum.com/f44/4_7_cold_start_warm_tapping_noise- 22127/
Going to try to add some zmax motor additive
Maybe that can tell me if it is the crank shaft I hope
About all Z-max will do is make your wallet lighter.
