Question type: Maintenance & Repair

engine trew a rod nnot low on oil.not qverheated ,but did notice a bolt wasnt tighten down  on the water pump and was leaking. Could this cause motor to trow a rod?

Overheating could lead to the engine seizing and a thrown rod. A loose water pump bolt is probably not the reason for your problems.

Have you taken the valve covers off to check if the timing chains are loose?
