2004 dodge ram 1500 rear end noise. sounds like a howl. only happens every now and then

Check gear oil level in the rear pumpkin. If you have grease fittings on your drive shaft universals, they may be getting dry. If no grease fittings, inspect your u-joints. May be time for new ones.
