Put cassett radio out of dodge ram 2002 in my boat. It will play fine for 15 to 20 secondsand shuts off. Turn it back on and does same thing. Any idea the problem?

Followed wiring diagram for 2002 radio but still just plays for 15 to 20 seconds. The radio is out of dodge ram 1500 2002 and I have put it in my boat. Any idea what problem is? thanks

I had a problem similar when I put a hi power unit in my boat. The speaker wire was too thin. I changed it out with some higher quality, thicker gauge and the problem went away. Also while doing that I found that the old speaker wire also had 3 or 4 splices in it.

Very finicky on power input Your battery has to be right up there- not a hair low Ran into this same problem with my travel trailer New battery and the problem was gone
