Transmission reverse problem...
Hi i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500, i have drive, 2nd and 1st. now reverse nothing but
however sometimes when i put it in reverse and give it gas it drives!!!! but when i put it
in park then reverse, nothing doesn't move..... i also don't have engine braking in n or
d.....now i already checked the linkage and also dropped the the tranny pan, its fine....i
did some reading is it possible the the reverse band is lose??? i don't want to replace
tranny if i don't need to....any ideas i can try????
You could try adjusting the band. or you could have a bad solenoid. could be other things also but those are two ideas.
Anything is worth a try, i will deff try those two things i just don't want to drop alot of money into the transmission and nothing works..
Might as well change the filters while your there.
Just out of nowhere the reverse will not work on my 03 Dodge Ram Truck..
Moises, you would get a better and more replies if you generate a new post, this one os over 3 years old and most of us drop older threads, somehow this one got by me. So that being said, it could just be the reverse solenoid stuck, but the only way to really tell is to have a tranny shop lug into the system, they can then run tests on the solenoids and watch the way they respond to commands from their system, then they will let you know what it will take to fix the problem.
we changed the rear band and it was fine until a few months, ive been told it could be the solenoid?
