I have to push the accelerator down pretty hard to get my pickup to move while in drive. Like it's stuck in 3rd. Once going it's fine. Does better if driven manually. Don't think it shifts to 1st tho.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I take off in 1st it goes better
than in drive. No change when shifted
into 2nd, shift to drive and it shifts.
Once on the highway at 65 I'm
running at 3100 rpms and it feels like
it needs to shift but won't. In drive it
takes a lot to get it to start moving,
once going its fine, but I don't feel any
shifts. I notice no chnge when in
overdrive. OD OFF light doesn't come
on. I don't know what the deal is.
Anyone know?

yes , after the transmissions start havinbg problems they actually try and start off in 2nd or 3rd gear from a stop light, most of the time is is a dirty governor solenoid, in the pan,it has a tiny screen and after it is cleaned sometimes the trans starts acting correctly
