2001 Dodge 1500 5.2 L Transmission swap
I'm in a huge bind. I replaced the transmission in
my 2001 Dodge 1500 2x 5.2 L . Couple mistakes I
made was not marking the torque converter, and
crushing the crankshaft sensor. I replaced the
sensor installed the replacement tranny. But now
the truck runs real ruff. Like it's out of time. Does
that torque converter have to be set in time at a
certain degree against the plate it mounts to?
What's really going on?
Did you make sure all pieces of the broken CKP (Crankshaft position sensor) came out? double check the connector for damage, and also the wires. The converter is not the issue. Use a scan tool and read DTC codes If the sensor and connections look good. CKP sensor is the main suspect.
Ok I straightened out the crank sensor code. Now I'm getting a p0340 Camshaft sensor. I replaced that. Still no change in the way it runs ....ruff. idle is all over the place.
