30MPH. WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM?

I suspect your due for a trip to your local transmission mechanic. Sounds like an internal transmission issue, so they will have to remove the pan to inspect and once a part or parts needs to be replaced assume a transmission rebuild.

usually governor pressure and shift solenoids. Their are kits available for this which include the transmission filter. Less than 1 hour job by competent mechanic.

Healeyman is correct. Your truck is stuck in what is called "limp mode". This mode is designed to prevent further damage to your transmission. Change the two solenoids and you will be rolling again.
