Dodge Ram 1500 no spark at the coil after backfire

if the timing jumped would I still get a spark at the
coil

perhaps...you would not need a spark if the timing has jumped~ I suspect a bad battery...test the voltage at that replace if more then ten years~

...is driven off the crankshaft with a helical gear...spark timing is determined by this helical gear position~
