I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a manual transmission, when it's in gear and I give it gas I hear a clunking sound and what feels like it misses a gear than grabs again. I suspect the fluid is low, could that be the problem or do I have some broken teeth? It doesn't make the sound in a pattern it's more random or if I hit a bump in the road, truck just started doing it now
Hows the clutch fluid level? I suspect a comprimized slave cylinder, the rattling is the looseness down there-
Clutch fluid level is ok, I don't think it's that. I can hear and feel the noise coming right from the trans
It's more of a clunk, no sound when it's not moving
ball fork?...hows the clutch action? rattley?
Clutch is brand new, it's tight.
not to dis- your grease monkey, but perhaps did not tighten a few bolts all the way or failed to use loctite where it was needed~
