Brake, tail, reverse running lights not working
All of my lights were working and when they stopped working properly i had
no tail lights, daytime running lights, no reverse lights and no brake lights.
My signal lights would work in the front ( both left and right) independently
but blink really fast as if I have a blown bulb. (Checked all bulbs and all
good) While the signal lights are turned on in the rear they both come on
together and also blink really fast. I have disconnected the connector above
the spare tire to isolate the rear end. When disconnected i still have the
same problem with my front signal lights. do anyone know if there is
another common junction point or lighting module that I could check. Thks
in advance!
You probably have a bad ground or power wire somewhere. The controller normally blinks fast where a bulb is burned out and it detects twice the current being supplied because one wire is out. Check the net for further info on why signals blink fast. A color coded wiring diagram is helpful here. Keep checking backward for power at the wire until you either hit the controller or the fuse box.
.....Because one bulb is out, not wire.
Hey I found the problem...on the 2005 model ....and possibly other older trucks .. there is 2 connectors for that main harness hidden behind a black plastic cover and caked in dirt! Removed the cover and cleaned up the dirt and the connectors..... found a couple corroded pins.... after everything cleaned up, put back together... tested lights and everything worked!
