motor cranks, but won't turn over?

...i go to start the truck, sounds like it's ready to start, it gives the starting
sound, but won't turn all the way over. Was working fine, for a couple of
miles, started to spudder, even stalled, i waited about 5mins, fire it back up,
came on, and i drove home which is a distance of 5-6 miles, it acted like it
was trying to cough about every 6-7 seconds maybe...NO ENGINE LIGHT
ON...I was advised by a mechanic that it seems like there's water in the
fuel...i put gas treatment soluntion in with $20 more of fuel...plzz...any
suggestions would be helpful...tyvm
