Whining noise when I start my truck but it quits when I accelarate to 50 mph

Power steering pumps tend to whine on Ford trucks. Seems to be so common it is probably normal to do that. But check the fluid level and check the transmission too. Those pumps will whine on most vehicles when fluid is low, dirty, or if it's a high mileage vehicle.
