Fuel pump or filter or something else?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
2002 Ford F-150 wouldn't crank right up at first,
then I would sit a minute, try again and it would run.
Well, eventually it stopped starting all together, then
I decided to try some starting fluid, started right up.
After doing that 3 times, it won't start no matter
how much I spray in.

Possible fuel pump, fuel regulator, and make sure the fuel filter is new. Check fuel pressure.
Check the fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge. One can be had at Sears or an auto parts store for about twenty bucks. The readings for key on engine off in PSI can be obtained from the net for your particular vehicle.
I would check fuel pressure at the rail first to isolate the problem
