i have a 2001 ford f150 xlt v8 5.4 liter short bed and for some reason they decided it
needed to have a 7 lug pattern and it is impossible to get new wheels for it because i
would have to have them drilled out which costs money and that i am lacking. can
anyone explain why they did this and i am wondering if there is a way i can change the
lug pattern without spending too much money. also, are there any places i could get a
7 lug wheel? in my opinion this is a stupid design and it makes it impossible to upgrade
wheels. any info on this helps. thanks a ton guys!
It is going to cost no matter what, engineers love to tinker, so it's not broke let's fix it anyway, Some of the 4wheelers around here have found wrecked earlier trucks and just changed everything out, front end, rear end, etc. a lot of then said later on that they should have just got rid of the truck before the mods, parts seemed to be the biggest reason.
the 7 lug wheel is part of the HD Payload Package. It is the only reason your truck has it.
Ultra motorsports offers 7 lug wheels. There's a set for sale on my local Craigslist, which is why I'm here. I wondered what kind of idiotic engineer would make a 7 lug pattern, I should've known Ford was involved!
