I'm trying to replace a starter on a 2001 Ford F-150 and were unable to pull the starter out. Its almost as if its engage with the fly wheel. If it is engage how do i get it unengage

Turn motor backward and it will by the belt or by crank shaft with the bolt in the center


If the vehicle is sitting on it's wheels, have someone rock the car back and fourth while in gear.
