Will any year 4.6 ltr Ford engine with a 8th vin W fit my 97 F-150 with 4.6 ltr Romeo
1 Answer
Your 4.6 engine was also produced at the Windsor plant and internally is different from the engine produced at the Romeo plant. The Romeo engine 2 v engine was produced up to 2000. Block and head material used was also different depending on use. Alum vs iron. Upgrades to the engine would probably require pcm, sensor, and wiring modifications on newer engines, you'll have to research this area. Also keep in mind if any engine work needs to be performed down the road, the mechanic will have to know what year the engine was produced and out of which vehicle it was taken.
