Question type: Car Customization

need to know what engine I could use to replace the triton 4.6 v8 in my 1997 ford lariat xlt.

4.6 - 5.0 - etc. All should fit. If you go with something other than the 4.6 you may have to take along some of the electronics and probably reflash the PCM. Just as a note. my 2010 4.6 with 28K miles threw an EVAC code. Parts replaced and code came back. Appears there were a PCM update or two I did not have. Once reflashed everything OK.
