have you disconnected the through out bearing from the pressure plate?
I figured it out, I had one of my floor jacks supporting the tail end of transmission. After a buddy came over he told me to remove the jack From tail end and let it hang . Cause it was applying pressure and not letting the transmission separate . Once I removed the rear jack and only the one jack under bell housing and the transmission slid off . I was able to lower the jack and transmission. Truck is back on road, thanks for response .

I'm having the same issue... I have a 1996 Ford f150 4x4..it has 5.0 5 speed I undid everything, bolts on bell housing, slave line, both drive shafts, cross member, both shifters, but I noticed that where the pressure is holding the most is where the set pins or guide pins are so I tried heating them up with a torch a little not for to long to mess anything up tried prying inbetween heads and bell housing this trans is really on there i cant for the death of me get these 2 to separate i had 6 bolts on bell housing and 2 for starter and 2 for dust cover
