Here are some of the things you can try. Turn the ignition on not start just on. You should have 25-40 lbs of fuel pressure. Make sure that happens. When you turn the ignition on you should hear the fuel pump spin up for 2 seconds and stop. You should check the spark plug coil for 12 V with a multimeter . Check the spark. Get a preferably new spark plug. Pull the spark plug wire from the number 6 cylinder. Ground the new plug on the engine. Plug in the number 6 cylinder wire and check for spark. If it fires weak. Sometimes those coils die or get weak. If you don't get fire at all and everything is put together right. It can be one of five things. The hall effect sensor(inside the distributor). The spark, timing, dwell, ignition computer module. A bad wire between the ignition cpu module and the distributor. A low battery or bad battery. A bad ground to the battery engine and frame. There are 4 grounds included the battery. One on the left side to the motor to the frame and hood. The main ground to the starter, engine, and frame. One on the right side to the body to the right beside of the radiator. The last thing I can think is to check the codes. You can do this with a key on test on of the main cpu. This can be done with a paper clip and the check engine light. Not described in this response.
