trans OVERHEATING???????

what would make my trans suddenly overflow. did this once before Years ago. checked fluid a month ago n was right on the mark now showing over fill and is running out of the overflow. THANKS IN ADVANCE
OH B T W less than 90,000 and trans serviced regularly according to manual. Thanks

Plugged filter. That is a pure guess, no hard information behind that answer

My best guess is that the radiator cooler/heater is leaking coolant into the transmission. The only other fluid could be engine oil. Over heating oil is not going to make it overflow. Oil doesn't expand that much.
