Hook it up with the red wire from new radio. There should be a black ground wire as well from the "chime box"

I figured I could splice it and tie it in but I didn't want to burn something up

The red wire from the chime box gets joined to the red wire from the radio. You might have 3 red wires hooked together its ok. Make sure the blue/w white stripe wires are hooked up as well. They are for the factory amp remote turn on.

Blue w/white stripe from the radio to the blue w/white stripe from the wiring harness. They will be marked: amp remote, amp turn on, amplifier, the one on the radio might even say power ant. (antenna).

TransAm77 I hooked up my aftermarket wiring harness to my aftermarket stereo (red-red, yellow-yellow, black-black, n all the speakers) in my 2003 Chevy trailblazer and the only thing it will do is eject a CD and display will come on. It's got power for memory because the clock on the display is keeping track of how many minutes it's been hooked up and the aftermarket CD player does work I've already tested that with a 12-volt power supply and speakers. I'm wondering if the wires on the aftermarket plug which are a black auxiliary Shield ground, a solid blue for a power antenna, and a blue with a white stripe amp turn on has anything to do with the stereo not coming on when it's hooked up by the harness? I did run a test wire straight from the battery to the red power supply on the stereo and it worked as it should have but would not turn on and off with the ignition. So do those blue wires or that black wire have anything to do with it's not coming on and off properly? Please help me I don't want to rig my truck up
