04 Chevy trailblazer engine dies when defrost is turned on. Possible reasons?

04 Chevy trailblazer engine dies when defrost is turned on. Dies as soon as
you turn the knob to defrost and only happens with defrost. What could be the
cause for this? Also what is the largest size double din stereo that will fit flush
in the 04 Chevy trailblazer?

When you select defrost the air conditioning compressor comes on. I'd suspect a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve or the PCM is not receiving an A/C request signal that will cause the idle to speed up slightly to accommodate the added load of the air conditioning compressor. Does the engine stall when you select the air conditioning settings as well? Hope that helps! Jim

Start doing this after the battery was disconnected for any reason? Pretty common problem, remove fuses #10 and #28 under the hood. Then remove throttle body and clean with sensor safe spray like Seafoam, a rag and a soft bristle brush. This problem will happen when defrost or AC is selected. Not a stereo guy, can't tell ya about the double din.
