1996 misfire

I put gas in went home. WEnt to start truck the next day it was hard starting rough idle,
was blowing smoke out tail pipe, didn't want to rev up. Made popping sound like a backfire
when you did finally get it to rev up. It will only rev up to 3500 RPM. And it works to get
there.
