The throttle body went out my 2003. It would happen out of nowhere. The display would say "Reduced Engine Power" and would have a very nasty, hard idle. It wouldn't do anything after that point. If I pressed the gas pedal, nothing would happen and would just continue to idle rough. I would pull over, shut the truck off, wait about 10 seconds, restart and it was fine. It would happen often (3-5 times a day) It didn't give any warning. I purchased a new throttle body (OEM) gasket and replaced it in the parking lot at work. 10MM deep socket I believe it was. Total was less than $300. That happen around 135K miles. I have 210K miles now with no issue from the throttle body. I had to replace a hub bearing at 150K miles. Steering box at 100K (the clunking noise was getting rather annoying). I had 2 shift solenoids go out about 105K, but apparently that's not very common. All in all I love my truck. It has had a few minor problems, but I will own this truck until I die. I'll have others in the mean time, but I will keep her.

Love Chevy...I own a Silverado and I've done some work here and there to get more hp OUTA her...true dual glasspacks..perfect sound ..not to loud and not to quiet...just how I wanted it..was worried that after I had the exhaust done that I wouldn't like it..but they listened to me and understood what I wanted..I take extremely good care of my truck...my throttle body u spoke of on ur truck ..I have 170,000 miles and never had that issues...I clean it and inside the throttle body with CRC throttle body cleaner...u be amazed at how dirty it gets..my cold air intake is also cleaned around every 3 to 4 thousand miles ..use synthetic oil and do the work myself...it makes a huge difference, anyways she snatches a lil..but we always want more...like u said u will basically die with ur truck .same here .first vehicle I purchased and paid for without any help...we tend to appreciate our Investment ALOT more if we pay for it ourselves,. So cutting to the chase..I WANT A CHEVY SS, 2003 ,4, OR 5...ADD TO COLLECTION..U HAVE A BEAUTIFUL TRUCK..OH 1 MORE THING...DONT EVER PAY ANYONE FOR A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING, BUY A CAN OF SEAFOAM AND POUR INTO UR BRAKE BOOSTER LINE..BOUT 3/4 OF THE BOTTLE..PUT REST IN GAS TANK...WHILE U POUR OR WHOEVER DOES.. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE IN THE TRUCK WITH IT RUNNING...ITLL TRY TO STALL OUT...HAVE TO POUR SLOW..STILL WILL SOUND LIKE ITLL STALL BUT IF U POUR IT SLOWLY.. POUR OVER THE BOOSTER LINE AND ITLL SUCK THE SEAFOAM IN..WHEN FINISHED TURN TRUCK OFF..WAIT ABOIT 15 MIN OR SO...THEN START IT UP..AND U WILL SEE WHAT THAT SEAFOAM DID WHILE IT RAN THROUGH UR FUEL SYSTEM...ALL THE CARBON BUILD UP WILL START COMING OUTA UR EXHAUST ...LOTS AND LOTS!! OF DARK SMOKE...THATS ALL THE GUNK AND CARBON BEING RELEASED FROM UR TRUCK THROUGH THE EXHAUST...WHEN U DRIVE IT U WILL NOTICE A HUGE DIFFERENCE...SAME WITH CLEANING THROTTLE BODY AND UR AIR FILTER.. RATHER ITS A COLD AIR INTAKE OR STOCK...WELL I HOPE ALL THIS JIBBER JABBER HELPS U ...IF U ALREADY KNOW WHAT IM SAYING THEN THATS AWESOME... THANKS FOR UR TIME READING THIS..#CHEVY4LIFE
