A spark plug wire was disconnected in my 2006 Malibu maxx..after reconnecting it my car lacks immediate acceleration

Why was it disconnected? Did you change the plugs and wires recently? If you did, recheck the routing of the wiring, you might have crossed a wire or 2. You didn't specify engine, but you can find wiring diagrams online fairly easy.
