Will the transmission from 1988
Silverado  fit in a 2001 Suburban? The
transmission in the suburban is a
4L60E the same as the Silverado

No. Electronically incompatible. It might fit but it won’t work.

No, the 2001 transmission is computer controlled. The 1988 isn't. Even if they both were computer controlled the 1988 is OBD I but the 2001 is OBD II. They're completely different computer control systems and are not compatible with each other at all. Hope that helps! Jim
