Would i an alternator from a 1600 16v work and fit on a 1400 16v?

My car is 1400 ls 16v and the alternator is out of 1600 Envoy 16v

i live in the uk so to me its a Vauxhall Astra newer models in the states are called the saturn.

A Vauxhall! A Saturn? oh no- an extinct car- no wonder you are searching for used parts- just check the mountings and the electrical connections- are they the same?

If you can't eyeball them, if you are just ordering it, or somethin' take a chance- it sounds close enough- can you return it if it doesn't work?
