1964 Spyder brakes and turbo

Asked by Randy May 22, 2018 at 11:06 PM

Question type: General

I am looking at a 1964 Spyder convertible.
I noticed two issues
1. When I step on the brakes to stop, it takes a great deal
of effort to stop the car even though the brakes are
firm(not spongy)
2. On hard Acceleration I do not feel the turbo kick again
is this normal?

1 Answer

Corvair Spyders are known for really bad turbo lag. The brake issues may just be the fact that they are drum.
