Buying a 94 Chevy S10 Pickup

So I’ve been looking at this truck and the guy
wanted 3500 and he says he would do 2000 for
today only.
It’s got 204k miles on it. Trying to get other people’s
opinion if I should go for it or not.
I’ve never owned a truck and not sure at what
mileage the problems start to arise.
And insight would be great.
Guy says just needs new shocks.
