Ford Edge Gas Miles

Asked by Bizzemomma Jul 18, 2017 at 09:56 AM

Question type: General

I recently bought a 2011 Ford Edge and getting
21.7 on my gas miles.
It recently dropped to 21.2. I was also rear-ended 2
weeks ago and had left side dual exhaust damage.
The left side pipe was pushed in and bent.
Would this cause fuel economy to be lost?

Really? I highly doubt that... besides, you're talking about 1/2 MPG difference....21.7 MPG down to 21.2 MPG. Maybe it's because you're running the air conditioning more? BUT, a crushed exhaust can cause back pressure issues and that's not good.. I hope you are planning on getting your car fixed right away. You don't want this to cause problems with the emissions system.
