I sent an email to contact a private seller, does that go directly to them

It's supposed to go to them via CarGurus, they hide your address and will relay any reply back to you from the seller. I am selling a car on CG and I have had two inquiries and each time I have responded back to the potential buyer. Neither buyer replied back to me so I don't really know if the system works as advertised.
